Why do we have a Privacy Notice?

Under the new General Data Protection Regulation rules it is important that MC Surveying explain to you how we look after your personal data and for this purpose we are telling you about our Privacy Notice. This explains how we make sure that we comply with this important legislation when we provide our services to you. We will only ever use your personal data strictly in accordance with this Privacy Notice.

What personal data will we have?

MC Surveying only need to hold very limited personal information about our clients and will be restricted to contact details such as names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses. Under the new GDPR rules it is important that we only have whatever personal data we need in order to perform our contract with you and keep it only for as long as we legitimately need to.

How will we use the data?

It is necessary for us to inform you how we will use the personal data that you give to us, or that we receive from other parties, and how we will use it and keep it safe. This data will only ever be used to the extent that it is necessary in order for us to perform the contract between us for providing surveying services.

After we have completed our contract we will keep your data for a period not exceeding 6 years with a secure file archive specialist and this is necessary to satisfy regulatory requirements. MC Surveying will never share your personal data with anyone outside of the EU.

We will not carry out any marketing unless we have your express consent to do so and you are entitled to withdraw this consent at any time. We will only ever market our surveying services and will not share your personal data with any other party for marketing purposes.

We will use your personal data lawfully and in a transparent way and collect it only for the valid purposes we have told you about. We will keep it secure and confidential and only for as long as is necessary.

Where do we get your personal data from?

In most cases we get your personal data from you when you contact us to enquire about our services and from time to time we might also get it from third parties that introduce you to us, for example estate agents.

How do we keep your data secure?

We only share your data with trusted third parties where they have a legitimate need to process it in order to assist us in performing our contract with you.

At MC Surveying we are committed to keeping your personal data as secure as possible and to do this we have stringent policies in place to protect data while it is in our possession. We have appropriate levels of security at our office and in our IT infrastructure and processing will only be carried out in accordance with your instructions. All personal data will be treated with strict confidentiality.

What are your rights?

If you are unhappy about the way we handle your data you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. You can do this by telephone on 0303 123 1113, or by visiting their website at www.ico.org.uk.

You are entitled to ask us to provide a copy of any personal information that we hold at any time and you can do this by writing to MC Surveying Data Control at the address below, or by sending an email to info@mcsurveying.co.uk.

You also have the right to ask us to correct your personal information, transfer it to other parties, or to delete it and we will do so except in circumstances where there is a legal or regulatory requirement for us to retain it.
